Each year many Sacred Heart students represent South Australia in various sports and also gain selection in the representative teams for the above Associations. Our students compete against teams from all areas of the State in many of the State-wide knock out competitions.
No elite sporting student is disadvantaged in any way by representing Sacred Heart College. The College is supplied with all information from affiliated bodies when the various state and representative team nominations are due. Sacred Heart College students are well respected by outside sporting bodies.
All teams are well coached by members of staff, selected old scholars and other suitably qualified parents and friends of the college.
Students in many of the top teams, are frequently involved with Interschool competitions and various Marist competitions. The College also participates in a large inter-school sporting and cultural exchange with Assumption College. The interstate activities incur an extra cost for parents and students.
All students are expected to represent the school as their first priority and in preference to other clubs. The College liaises with clubs for the holiday breaks and the Physical Education staff are able to assist students in the transition from school to club sport.
Sports Day
Sports Day is an Athletics Carnival held each year. This is an Inter-house Carnival at which student attendance is compulsory. It is held on the Main Oval, and coordinated by the Director of Student Welfare supported by the Sports Administrator and the Heads of House.
