Boarding

The College offers accommodation for girls and boys, years 7 -12. Whilst most boarders attend the senior school (years 10 - 12), a number of places for boarders in years 7-9 are available at the associated middle schools, Marymount College, Hove, for girls and Sacred Heart College Middle School, Mitchell Park, for boys.

 

The boarding community at Sacred Heart College Senior adds great richness and diversity to the life of the school, and provides a wide range of choices and opportunities are provided that are not always available in rural areas or small country schools.

 

Since 1998, the college has enrolled both girls and boys in the boarding houses which provide modern, family style facilities for the students.

 

Families value the opportunity to send both their daughters and sons to the same school.The boarding culture is an important part of Sacred Heart College's identity and tradition. Many of the boarders have parents who were educated at Sacred Heart College Senior so there is a strong sense of family involvement with the school.

 

The welfare of the boarders is the special responsibility of the Marist Brothers and the staff who administer and service the boarding house. Through dedicated care and attention they have established a supportive environment where each person is welcomed into a large and mutually supportive family.
